This belonged to an old friend that passed. His son inherited it. Dad tagged most of the guns but this one was at gunsmiths getting extractor replaced ( It is still shootable and has been shot recently). I put the bolt back in for son when he got it back from Smith. I'm not a Mauser expert. I know it's a mix master because Dad bought it in pieces and had it restored. Can anyone give me any ideas to pass on to son reference marking/history.

if you don't get any replies, try on the gunboards forums or the great war forums. there are guys over on those boards that are experts on those markings.

Thanks he is going to have to sell a few as the inheritance was over 100 guns and room is an issue. I think this one is hard enough to find he should keep it.

I found the FW marked on the left of receiver under crown is Frederick William of Prussia. The 10.95 mark is the caliber....google to sontinue.

It looks like the front sling swivel was made like a split key ring.

what have you found out about this rifle so far?

free 1954. I gave him the link you provided along with a couple others I found. Basically it's a mixmaster for sure. He had taken it to the Smith that worked on the bolt and confirmed with the right ammo he could fire it. I've been off deer hunting and haven't talked to him to see what else he found out.
