Hi all,

Quick question...were the Berettas the were made and sold here in the US back in the 70s - 80s era made with cast receivers?

Thanks,

Mike Conroy

Forged. IIRC, the only folks making cast M1 receivers was the company that eventually evolved into Springfield Armory, INC.

If I remember right, Winchester used machinery was sent to Italy in the early 50's to make their own M1's and for other "allies".

Springfield Armory in Geneseo made Beretta M-1 rifles and BM -59 rifles with cast receivers , You can separate these by the logo, The Armory has a TM in a circle after the ARMORY name; You just need to be aware, Fed ord also imported both of these rifles also all with forged receivers--
