Bergdahl will acknowledge that he deserted his unit and committed “misbehavior before the enemy.”

Does that - hopefully - mean the SOB will be SHOT??

Or, is a way to slide? He doesn't want a free sex change operation, does he?

Supposedly he could get life in prison. But if this is a plea deal, he may get just a couple of years....I'm betting 10 years max.

I'm betting, no jail time.

Of course it is, otherwise why admit to anything? Not only have the left-wing groups which regard him as a hero supplied him with the best legal defense money can buy, but the Army has proven it has no stomach to make an example of him.

He probably realizes that with the change of administration his chances of getting executive clemency a la "Chelsea" Manning are zero.

Bergdahl was a PFC when he deserted but was promoted to SGT during his time in captivity and has been getting SGT E5 pay ever since plus his 30 days of leave a year. He should have been court-martialed 2 years ago and be sitting in a cell in Leavenworth instead of behind a desk at Benning. He will probably get a Good Conduct Medal.

I'd like to know more of the story. I wonder if he will tell the truth. Or if ANYONE will tell the truth.

What REALLY happened?

You don't accept the sworn testimony of everyone else in his platoon? Beyond that, what is there to know?

He even admits that he left his unit saying something like, I wanted to report the problems with my command. They haven;t shot anyone for desertion since WW2.

I'm betting a few years in prison, then him writing a book and going on with his life. No one will know him as most of the population aren't vets and his life will be ok.
