I'm un-sporterizing a k98 and I want to replace the rear sight assembly. I haven't been able to find one.

Anybody know anybody with one for sale? (in good shape)

Thanks!

OK, I have the sight assembly now. It didn't come with a screw. So anybody know the size of the screw?

And the next question for this august body is about soldering the sight assembly. The Germans used silver solder. Is it necessary to use the silver solder or is there another way to do the job? If I don't have to buy 25 bucks worth of solder to use 1 bucks worth I'd be happier.

Thanks

not sure if the thread size. I put a sight on a Swedish Mauser I was building, and didn't have the screw either. I went to a local hardware dealer and bought a modern screw that fit. If you don't mind a socket head screw, its mostly hidden and only you'll know its there. I used lead solder to put on both front and rear sights.

Forgot to mention, its metric, but I figured you already know that.
