I recently aquired a civil war era type saber.
I do not believe it is an actual original from the war. However I got it from a reputable gentleman that said he had it for about 50 years.
I think it may be from the CW centennial era of the 1960's.
It is a 3/4 size saber type with metal scabbard and is well patina'd. It is etched CSA.
I appears far better made than the re-enacting repos of today.
I have seen references to 3/4 size swords on line, but no phots or anything definite.
I sure would appreciate any help in identifying this from anyone that could help. Or advice on who to contact.
