What is a CMP Winchester Model 52D value range today. It has about 95% metal and wood finish with Redfield Olympic front and rear sights. It is being offered in a private deal for $1100. There may be some flexibility on the price but not much.

That may be about right, however I do not follow them closely. Go to RimFireCentral, they have a forum for the M-52 Winchester. But they will ask for pics as they are very picky about originality. But you will get a rough estimate with your question as is.

They are usually $800 or $900 without sights. So it's usually $150 to $200 for sights. So yeah he's pretty close if it's a nice one.

Thanks for the input. I will see how "flexible" he is and see what happens.

Top prices are usually only paid for 'as new' none refinished examples. Go to RFC, those guys are dedicated collectors, you will get many knowledgeable answers. I think 1100 is probably a top price. Its worth a try just, for bargaining power.

Remind the seller that it was 350.00 when they offered it from CMP. Its rare that a rifle used by military and juniors survived as a 'true' 95%. Check the serial number etched on the bottom of the bolt, original butt plate, hand stop, bbl length, crown..

It sounds a little high to me. Lots of choices when you get to the 1k mark.
