I have been looking for a 20" .556 upper assembly for a few weeks and can't find any locally or through any online outfits that I know and trust. I want one for target shooting at 100 yards. I use 55 or 62 grain bullets .
Any ideas?

I have used these from Model 1 Sales twice over the years. Very satisfied with accuracy, reliability and quality. Shot local CMP reduced 100 yard matches and won several times using these uppers.
Some people bad mouth them, I don't.

A good trigger makes all the difference.

Almost forgot. These folks are great to deal with also and have good products. In stock.

Keep an eye on Palmetto State Armory.

It seems like they have something on sale every other day. They have 20" uppers in several configurations, but unfortunately no A2.

Actually Palmetto is one that I have been checking because I buy ammunition from them. They have great prices on uppers but are always out of stock on 20s

I own a AR15.2\(Military) with a heavy match barrel but, wanted a lighter weight barrel for coyote hunting and finally found one at Indianaplis gun show a few years back. I know that would be a drive from Colorado but, they are out there. I bought my extra upper with military weight barrel for about $300. Just pop the front joint and put other upper on now. Best of luck in your search.

Thanks Steve. I've been to the Tanner show in Denver but prices are high.

There is always a dealer near the middle of the building who has tons of AR uppers and barreled uppers, every time we've been there. Most makes and most varieties. Indianapolis is a 1500(BIG) table show.

if you find one with 1:9 or faster, then you may want to try 69gr SMK's,

they do very well in my 1:9 twist 20"

Years ago I bought a M16 take off upper with triangle hand guards, 1/12 twist. I should have bought 2 but didn't. I hate when I do things like that.

I remember those. I wish I had bought at least one. Back then I was shooting cheap 7.62.
