Does anyone know where I could get parts for this gun ? I need upper hand guard and safety parts. I know upper hand guard will most likely have to be made from a donor hand guard. Im not sure what I need for the safety. Does the R A D stamp stand for the Reich Labour Service ? 3132131322313233132431325

Wood will have to be made or find a donor rifle. Safety's are like hens teeth, imposable to find.
It's one of the things that break on the DSM34's and DSM36's. You can fab one out of a Springfield safety.

There is a site called K98k forum. Many sub-categories, one of which is German trainers. Many knowledgeable collectors there, try it. Some may even come up with parts or sources.
You also need a half moon clip which fits on rear of handguard and under lip of sight. This can be fashioned from top half of a rear handguard clip/ring of a 03-A3. They are lost quite often. I may still have one I made, will check.

There is a guy on the K98k forum that makes the hand guard clip Dave is talking about. The safety is still very hard to find and most don't sell
any spare ones they have if they are avid collectors. Neve know when you are going to find a nice rifle without a safety!
