An older gentleman that I know was telling me about an old gun he had bought several years ago at a garage sale. From what I can tell it is an 1877 trapdoor carbine. Serial number is 137647. It has quite a bit of rust. I told him I would take it home and clean it. I have been letting it soak in CLP and wiping off the rust trying not to remove any bluing. When I first received it I couldn't read the serial numbers. I don't know anything about trapdoors so any information would be appreciated. He offered to sell this to me but neither of us have any idea of value.
