Retired Col. friend has a lottery M-1d. Looks totally refinished in all
Matching gray parkerizing. Rifle came in the bag in the 90's and I helped unshuck it yesterday. Plastic bag covered the rifle with the scope mount attached... Absolutely no wear anywhere. Red sight protector on windage knob...,

Whazzit worth?? Did not cycle bolt or disassemble... Very cherry.

Lottery D's in the box are going for $3500-$4500 (I've seen others with higher asking prices but they rarely go for more...). Add a premium for Winchester...

One of 'em sold on Gunrunner in 2011 for around $4890.00 USD. Another, with no scope on the CMP's Auction site in 2005 for $3,506.00US.
I knew I should have bought one when they were $250 Cdn. up here. Didn't because the scope's on the wrong side. OUCH!. Kicked myself again.

We did not even cycle the bolt and look at the barrel. It is a '45 production. There is a tiny bit of park off on the left locking lug. Like it was function fired once.

You will actually see more lottery guns still new in the box/fresh from rebuild than ones that are assembled and used. there are currently two for sale in the WTS section, one for $4900 and one for $5000 and they have been on the market for a while. A long while...

Agreed the market is much softer but there should be a premium for a Winchester.

The CMP Greek return D's fulfilled the shooter market and devalued the nicer lottery guns.

The CMP has a stack a M1D barrels ready to go for making these new M1D specials. I suspect the scope and other accessories to be that much harder to locate.

Agreed, Add a Premium for Winchester is exactly what I posted in my first response...
