May have pitting an other rough spots. Depends if rust is lite or heavy. If heavy might in up beign trash, if lite a supper good scrubbing might make it into a shooter bbl.

If a bore brush won't do it, what about electrolysis?

Did a few runs with a bore snake, Maybe promising, But might be some pitting. A shame, because never shot.

If your are brave you can try this.....Cut a one inch square green scots brite pad....roll it tight as you can.....insert one end into the muzzle, soaked with kroil oil.....take a Wood 1/4 dowel, gently tap thru to the throat end...repeat as necessary...On my last pass I delete the kroil oil, and use some Filtz....good luck....The Oaks is next weekend.....regards alex

Try plugging bore and fill with turpentine let soak for hour and use new bore brush with one piece coated rod, smooth long strikes and DON'T try to reverse inside barrel.
Flush and inspect repeat as needed.

Have soak dark bores on WWI veterans, using kerosene for over-night got good results.
