I traded one of my Mosin Nagant 91/30's for this about ten years ago. I had about $30 in the Nagant from back in the early 90's...$595 for a crate of twenty from SOG. FFL of course. It's a fun gun to shoot but ammo is pretty expensive as it's an odd ball round 7.62x45. Does any one have one of these and if so what do you think. It shoots well but the bore is a bit frosty but has good lands. Any comments would be appreciated. Be safe and God bless. Here's a few pics. Rich.

I have wanted a CZ 52/57 for a long time and this weekend the gun show at Indianapolis had one displayed for $1200. I did not purchase it. The CZ 52/57 fires the common 7.62 x 39 cartridge. Even the CZ 52 is not common anymore and the ammunition is difficult to find.

The 52 is in 7.62x45, the 52/57 in 7.62x39. Numrich had a conversion kit for many years, a chamber insert one glued in place. Ammunition was available for many years, and cheap, until the rifles showed up. I am impressed that the longer case added very little in performance. The ammunition seemed incredibly corrosive. Virtually all the ammunition is primed with .197" Berdan primers, which are not available.

Recently, I saw someone offering new production barrels in 7.62x39. Someone did a group buy of dies about 4 years ago, custom made by Lee, and I bought a set. The cartridge has the same head size as the 6.5x54 and 6.5x53, which can be formed into 7.62x45.

Nujudge, I'm new here but I'm wanting to find a set of dies for the 7.63x45. I've replaced my bedliner stock, now it's ready
to shoot. If you know of any for sale let me know. Thanks, HDHIC aka Cliff
