I posted this on the cmp forum but only had one response. I have an opportunity to purchase a 75/3200 16x combo for 1100 and I'm wondering if this is a fair deal. I've wanted a combo like this to buy but the timing has not been right. The rifle is in the 30k range (90-95%) and the scope includes the original box. Don't know much about 3200 scopes but I like the rifle. Any comments or advice is appreciated I expect I could negotiate a little on the deal. Regards,

Any opinions at all? The redfield scope is not very good, wait and go for a lyman, unertl combo... etc.. I assume someone has an opinion.. maybe since no one can buy .22 ammo its irrelevant .....or maybe Ebola has put an end to the internet and I'm the only survivor...

$1100 is a lot of money for a junior target rifle and a scope you don't like. Look for a Model 52C with a Targetspot if you want a top-notch vintage .22 outfit.

Thanks for the comment. I just don't much about target rifles and scopes. I've been plinking all my life and I shoot garands, etc., all the time but just thought this was a nice combo as I've wanted a nice target combo for awhile. Just thought this might be a good rifle combo to have. Thanks for the comments and input from what I've read some people like the 3200 but it seems most shooters prefer a lyman or unertl but the combos are usually priced higher. That's a great looking set up you posted. What does the para represent in your alias if you don't mind me asking?

Herschel,
Thank you for the information and comments. A 52 with a Fecker would be nice but I don't that's in the cards...

Some of the 75's came with a brown leather sling, 1" wide with the "Winchester" logo stamped on it, if the 75 has the sling it raises the cost by ~ $100. I have a minty 75 with the factory sling and a Unertl 3/4" target scope mounted on it, shoots lights out, I paid $600 for the rifle w/sling probably 8 years ago, the scope is worth more then the rifle...

Jay,
Thank you for the additional info. The rifle had a leather sling on it but I didn't notice if it was a WRA marked sling. The next time I get home I'll take a look. I guess from the comments 1100+- appears to be high for the rig. I have no idea what it should sell for. Win 75's don't seem to get sold for much on GB at least from what I can tell verse what people want and the Redfield 16X avg about $550 from what I can find on the internet. I guess 900 to 1000 would probably be more ball parkish but I never see a 75 at a gun show for $450 or less unless its shows lots of use.

CC, I should clarify that the $600 was for the rifle with the factory sling, it did not include the Unertl scope for $600, I already had the scope.

Depending on the condition of the rifle and whether or not it is a Target or a Sporter the asking price may be acceptable. The scope at $550 value is about right. The 3200 is a good scope, as with anything used the care taken of the scope dictates it's value. I have a 3200 12X for my Remington 37 and it works very well. Have had a couple of 75's and while nice rifles and pretty accurate, they will not run with the 52's. Save your money and get a 52, you won't be sorry.

Some of my barrel mounted scopes and tube sights.
