Hey folks. I'm new here..Just want a little info on a M1 Carbine that I picked up back in 09. It's a Saginaw ser# 3465067 with an Underwood barrel marked 2-44. It's a nice shooter and I also reload for it. The mag pouch is original but the sling is a repo. Just curious about a year of mfg. and what you folks think. No import marks and I gave $575. Rich

I'd say you did pretty good.

About November 1943 for your serial number. It has been through a rebuild and that is when the rear sight, barrel, barrel band and hand guard where changed out on it. The safety and magazine catch were most likely changed then too. Even as a rebuilt what you got it for is a very good buy.

Looks great !! Most carbines you find these days are mixmasters - rebuilt after the war . You got a great deal , and as long as it shoots good - and your happy - that's all that matters !!
