I have been all over the web trying to find information on the manufactures if the M1 Garand Leather Sling, both WWI and WWII. I found a site that listed the manufacture's stamps but it did not give any information on who the manufactures were. Does anyone have any information on the names of the manufactures names of the manufacture that goes with the stamp and the dates???:icon_scratch:

This is the site I mentioned in the post. It does list a few but the List at the bottom is incomplete.
1907 sling manufacturers (under construction and looking for other manufacturers)

"B.T.& BRO." Below it I believe is "1918"
"BOYT 42." Many will tell you that all slings made in WW2 had steel hardware. In fact, brass wa"s used until late 1942 when it was conserved for higher priority items.

I have two slings. One is Stamped B. T. & B. Co over a 4. I have seen several, some over a 1, 2 and even an 8. Some forums state this is a date. I not to sure. I think it was a production number. I believe it is Belber Trunk and bag Co., Philadelphia, Pa. They are listed as a WWII Sling Manufacture. The sling I have is a WWI with brass hooks. I would like to know what the numbers stood for and the date of manufacture!!!
The second sling I have is stamped CC over 1942. I cannot find any information on who CC is.
Both of these slings are in complete and in pretty good shape for their age.
I have ubserted images of the two slings I have questions about. The top image is the B. T. & B. Co. over 4 stamp and the bottom image is the CC over 1942.
