Have a Model 53 Ted Williams, and I recognize it as being a M70 variant.

Any idea as to location of SN versus manufacturing date list, to be found?

Look similar to my 1972 M70, but have a "U" SN.

Thanks.

I would think that the serial numbers would be the same series as regular M-70's. The U may designate sale to sears. You would have to write Win. to get an answer.

does it have the pre-64 style controlled round feeding & extractor or the newer later style...... similar to the Rem 700, M14 etc?

with the slotted bolt lug.

similar to my 1972 M70 with the "G" SN,

Have a first series post-64 M70 that has NO "alpha" prefix to the SN and no slotted bolt lug.

Stock is non-walnut, looks like a early M670 variant???

Will try Numrich if they have info, not expecting any response from Sears holding, Inc.
