I have two Krag rifles I want to make chamber castings of . So would someone of you guys tell me what is the best material to use to do it ? Where could I get it and what is a good mold release agent to use with it? I tried using melted sulfur once before and had lousy luck.
Thank you Dixie catalog. Thanks in advance, R. Gray

What Mr. Hosmer says is always great advice.

Midway USA carries Cerro Safe. You need to preheat the chamber before you make the pour. Almost as soon as it gets solid push it out and measure. If you pour it in a cold chamber you might have to melt it out.

Thanks very much for the info. I am sure I read about the stuff in a thread a while ago but I just couldn't locate it. Thanks again for the info.

Cerrosafe can be used over and over. Like a woman's a$$, it never wears out. You can rent it your buddies and recover the cost.
