I picked up another deer rifle like I needed one. I was looking for a 1966 made bolt action (the year I was born) :eusa_shhh: after getting outbid and no way I was paying big money.
So plan B I like European calibers I knew of the remington 700 classic in 8mm mauser. I have a Interarms mark x in 7mm mauser. One of the 700 classic in 8mm mauser NIB and only one was on gunbroker so I pulled the trigger.
After the post office decided to keep trying to deliver to the wrong county I picked it up yesterday.:headbang:
I went to a local gun show and picked up a used nice Redfield 4 power scope and mounts.
I found some Geco European made hunting ammo online since the US made stuff is underpowered.
:protest:
I use superformance in my 7mm mauser.
I have to say I am not much of a fan of the Remington 700's but the classic line not the CDL but the discontinued Classic line is what I like.:headbang:
Some Pics below.
Thanks

I should have added that my first Deer rifle I bought when I was a kid was a sporterized 98K in 8mm mauser. I never was able to shoot a deer or anything with it. I sold it when I was 19 when I got a scrubbed Polish mauser from the Spanish civil war. The sling that is on this 700 is my sling from the 98k sporty I kept it all these years it was only fitting to install it on this rifle.
I have had other rifles for deer hunting the only one I kept was a model 70 super grade when they came out in the early 1990's.
