I just talked to my FFL and he contacted DPMS and the delivery on my "AR10 Classic" is 2 to 4 months from now. I ordered it in October of 2012. I never thought it would take this long.:icon_scratch:

My shooting buddy ordered a LMT AR 15 in December of 2012 and it is supposed to ship next week...seemed like ages ago he ordered it. I'm not sure what model DPMS AR-10 another friend has but it has the heavy barrel on it. I sighted the gun in for him when he got it. The gun shot much better than I anticipated. With Remingtin corelokt it would go 1.5 MOA on its better groups. With some Honady Match I was getting some one inch groups. This was all out of a rifle rest. I think you will be happy with yours to just not the many months it took to get it.

Too bad out of all of these on the market today none are close to the originals. I can remember years back when a bunch of friends bought some of the Portuguese kits and built up rifles. Wish I'd of followed suit with them.

I have a Portuguese CETME that I shoot once in a while. As it shoots well I think the butt stock is way too narrow and the recoil is unpleasent.

Well this is now the first anniversary of my order of my DPMS AR 10. Who ever thought it could take over one year to get what is supposed to be a standard production rifle? I'm not giving up YET!

Hang in there it will come.

Im 10 months into waiting for a scope.

Thankfully most of my reloading needs have been fulfilled. I was more worried about that one.

Seen a new one at the local gun/fishing store yesterday. Little over 1100 bucks. Maybe they forgot ya.

The rifle I ordered is the "Classic". I guess not many people want something like that.

I have one with a 16" barrel that I shoot quite a bit. This one has a 20" barrel and I plan to put a really good scope on it.

I have the 16in carbine DPMS 308. Bought it new on Gunbroker for $970 + ship plus fee to my FFL. The only thing it needs is a 2 stage trigger....the stock one is kinda rough. Mounted a 4 power Bushnell and got it zeroed, but hard to get groups that mean anything with that trigger.

Great day at the range. Super groups with several groups touching. Nikon scope works like a charm, glad I bought it.

I have one of the old "Portuguese" AR-10s. They were actually built by Artillerie Inrichtengen in Holland and used by the Portuguese in Angola. There were a couple of other buyers, but the Portuguese rilfes were the most common, followed by the Sudanese. I have to agree with the earlier poster who said that none of the current crop come close to the originals. The old ones are smoother and feel more ergonomic than any of the new ones, at least to me. Super accurate also.

I have an ArmaLite AR-10A4 that I normally shoot, but once in a while, the old one comes out to play.

I never 'order' a firearm because they are available here. AR10s are here to buy and run out the door.
