Bogus. A fantasy piece that someone made, and then it got copied. The logo is a legit Remington Rand logo, but never used on a Remington Rand 1911A1.

That logo has been discussed here on the forum in the past. A search might find the thread.

That's what I thought.
Thanks for the confirmation

That thing is like a turd that won't flush it just keeps coming back. Seems like there was a big debate on that one or one like it years ago. I'm just waiting for someone to show up with a sewing machine etched on the slide swearing it's a Singer.

I am disappointed in Jackson Arms! thought more of them.

[I] sent the gentleman an email explaining why it wasn't an original marking on the RR. He said I was wrong and that it was very rare and it was original. OK........

Typical response from a seller.

This is probably the most damning evidence against the RR Globe logo as found on Remington Typewriters. It describes a patent statement on the logo which would not have been on a 1911A1 pistol. Of course all this detail is lost in the pantograph on the slide.

"The PD has the "RR/globe" logo and the words "Remington Rand" on a
shield with the "Made in USA" and patent statement (but no numbers. All
three Model One Pnnnnn machines have exactly the same, as does a
"Remington" "Quiet 1"

A notorious dealer from Calif. had an identical Remington Rand (Or maybe the same gun) on his tables at several west coast shows several years ago. He probable made more than one.

For those who would like some other WW2 U.S. firearms with very rare manufacturer's markings, I have an Inland carbine with a '42 Chevy cartouche on the stock and a Rock-Ola with a jukebox marking. Only $3,500 each, with certificate of authenticity from the "Mitchell's Mausers Museum", a free tube of KY-Jelly, and autographed photo of Rock Hudson included!

Here is one of the two that passed through my hands.. They were indeed "created" by the SoCal used car salesman, gun "collector" and general scoundrel which will remain unamed!!!

I have moved several times and for the life of me, I cannot find the serial numbers of the two Rare RR's..

In the original logo the circle in the middle was a globe with I believe the North and South American continents and latitude and longitude lines. Just got to complicated to replicate those I suppose.

The seller has updated the listing. "Very Late WWII Remington Rand 1911A1 with Remington Rand Logo added to slide"

Great! A correct slide should make it a $1500 pistol.

Would that Huntington Beach, California purveyor of firearms with rare markings happen to have a first name that rhymes with "Rave" and a last name that rhymes with "Tune"?

Hell, for $3,500 I'll not only kiss you, I'll even bring you a little box of chocolates and a rose, and hold you and tell you I love you!
