Guys

Over the years I have accumulated a few brown and black handled M2Schrade Presto paratrooper knives. My collecting interests have changed, and I'm probably going to pass them on to other collectors. What are they going for these days, and what is the best way to sell them?

Fleabay of course, is not an option. Anybody know any specialized military knife auction or sales forums?

Thanks

I've acquired a few myself, but bought them a while ago so I'm not too sure of current value. You could try the for sale forum here, or gunbroker. I'd be interested, but not sure that I could afford todays prices.

Hope I am not rude hooking on to this thread but I own a post WW2 German paratrooper gravity knife. Apart from in books I have never seen another one. Can anyone tell me how rare (if they are rare) they are and give me an idea of its value. Not working when I got it the lanyard staple had to be sacrificed in order to strip and repair it. They were not made to be taken apart. It now works fine.

You might want to look at the Tom Wittmann website. He sells most of the German edged weapon types including gravity knives.

Thanks Snipershot1944.
Mr Wittmann appears to be WW2 and prior orientated. But what a collection.
I have done another Goggle search and many years after I first tried I still can't find any reference to this knife. However I have found a contact in Germany who may be able to help me. Thanks for your input.

Here's a good site you would probably get some interest in folks wanting to buy your knives. It's a great site that features US military collectables only. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/

The prices I observed at shows for true WWII ones run from $400-$600. The ones with the bales sell best and bring the most, Ray

Thanks Ray but I don't think this one is in the same class as the lovely WW2 models.

Barry

I think he intended that replay for my message about selling the M2 Paratrooper knives from WWII. They are WWII models, and quite lovely.

That's the danger of a "hijacked" thread.

Nice collection Kurt. I see you also have a couple of commercial versions as well.
Here is my collection. I've added a couple more since this photo was taken.
