I'm looking for an uncut Saginaw S.G. front sight or at least one measuring not less than .315 from base to tip as a replacement for one that was cut way too short. Am I looking for the proverbial "needle in the haystack" or are they more common than I suspect? Or should I just "JB Weld" some material to the top and start filing? Thanks, Dennis

Unless you can hold it in your hand and measure it I think it's going to be hard to find a replacement front sight that meets your requirements. You could get a new replacement type, install it keeping the old one somewhere safe. Then with the new one you can shoot and file it to where you need it to be for your rear sight. Remember that the original S.G. front sights were all adjusted for the flip rear sight so most if not all may be too short for your carbine if you have an adjustable rear sight.

Thanks for the response. If I can't find an uncut SG, I'll have no choice but go the replacement route.
