I picked up a Post war Colt 45-22 Conversion Kit in a trade deal and am thinking of selling it. It is in it's original dark maroon Box. The kit is complete and looks like it's been used very little, if at all. The shiney blued slide is 99% plus condition. I need to know what to ask for the Kit.

Thanks for your help....

Post-war...sure it's not a .22-.45 kit? How is the slide marked?

The box is marked "COLT .22 SERVICE MODEL CONVERSION UNIT (Floating Chamber)" It is a set that converts a .45 caliber 1911 to a .22

The Slide has "COLT Conversion Unit .22 Long Rifle" on the right side and "COLT'S MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.'' on the left side.

I've never owned one of these before and don't really know anything about them. I will probably end up selling it or trading it off but don't have a clue as far as it's value.

I see one just like it on one of the prominent gun auction sites that has a bid of over $800 and the owner says it has not reached his Reserve yet. I didn't think that they had that kind of value.

The Colt Conversion Kit that is on GunBroker closed out last Sunday, not having met his reserve, at $1050.00. He has now relisted it and it is up to $878.00 already with 1 1/2 weeks to go. I'm pretty excited now as mine is just like his Kit. I'm also amazed at how high the bids are.

I would probably sell mine for $800, shipped. I will probably list it tomorrow. Thanks
