I am not trying to resurrect one of these rifles. I only want to fix up a couple of receivers to
demonstrate with (no wood). I am asking for any suggestions available for removing the
weld material from the selector switch groove. I am prepared to slowly file away, if necessary.
But, if there are any shortcuts---I'd be happy to hear about them! Thanks. B :icon_rolleyes:

Dremel tool and files and time. When I get close I install cut off and look for high points....good luck.

I have worked on over 100. 1st tool I use is an air powered cut off grinder with a thin 1/16" disc. I have some discs that are worn down to about 1" dia. they work great in the small area of the cutoff I tape some thin scrap steel where I do not want to accidently leave a mark. After that like Chuck said a Dremil tool with different bits and grinding wheels is your friend. Also a 1" belt sander is great to clean up the bolsters. Enjoy your project
