View Full Version : Not new, but original 1916 GM

Picked this up from a friend today. He bought several pieces recently and this was one of them...all from the same fellow. Granted, I prefer high condition pistols, but will settle for a little less eye appeal, provided the piece is all original. This one checked out to be totally unaltered, including the barrel, magazine and all small parts. It required a little cleaning to get most of the crud off if it, but turned out to be worth the trouble. :)

We both have an early SA and early Colt. This one was shipped to England and likely was a private purchase for the war. The English had strict regs about carrying only the 455 but this was often ignored. This Colt is well marked with the British CorwnV. Low finish, but all correct:
