I found the large head firing pin in a box of parts from an EX-GI shooter years ago and it fits an M16 and works great. I had an AR-180 once and it seems like the firing pin was like this one. But can't really remember. Anyone know for sure.

Thanks,

Early M16 firing pin....was changed to small head because of concerns with slam fires. Small head has less inertia.

I just remembered the guy I got this from was involved in test AR-15's and AR-18's for the Air Force in the early 60's. He told me the AR-18's were problematic and parts broke during the test. He also said the the people that wanted the AR-15 fixed the demonstration to the Top Brass. He said they had 2 troops with M-2 carbines try to shoot down a cinder block wall and then the same 2 troops used 2 AR-15's to blast a door through another cinder block wall and run through it. He said they cut the door out with full auto fire and kicked it over and went through.

I'm not sure what the AR18/180 had for a firing pin but what you seem to have are a large and small head for the AR-15/M16.
