I bought a nice JC Higgins Model 102.25 (Stevens 520-30) to convert into a trench gun. Adding to it is an original heatshield for the 520-30. I have not cut the barrel or installed the heatshield yet, but pics show how it will look.http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k229/rudybolla/520-30%20Trench%20Gun%20Project/th_IMG_5384_zps01b295ca.jpg (http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k229/rudybolla/520-30%20Trench%20Gun%20Project/?action=view&current=IMG_5384_zps01b295ca.jpg)

Nice idea. I have one of those Sears shotguns I picked up at a flea market many years ago. Mine is 16 gauge though so installing one of those heat shields is out. The takedown feature of this gun is nice though....chris3

You could add a discrete copper shim or two and I think it would work on a 16.

I had planned on cutting down an ord marked aerial training barrel for this project, but put it in the classifieds instead.
