I read a book a long while while back that mentioned during the interwar period that Mauser made two sporting/big-game cartridges based on the 8x57mm. One was a 10x57mm and the other a 10.5x57mm. I don't see a mention of either in the Cartridges of the World or in some other newer resources.

I'm familiar with the 9x57mm and 9.3x57mm sporting cartridge, but can't find any info on the two aforementioned cartridges. Any resources and info would be excellent. Thanks much. :)

The 1939 DWM catalogue doesn't show any listings for those two calibers.They list a 9.5x57,10.75x68,and 10.75x73 but no 10 or 10.5 x 57.

Alrighty. Out of curiosity, is this catalog available online or only in print?

Since posting, I found a few minor leads on the web, but not much.

Thanks for the info. :)

The one I have is in a book called Cartridge Catologues compiled by George Hoyem.I believe it is now out of print.Have you tried the International Ammunition Association site? Also Cornell Publications they may have reprints of DWM ammunition catalogues.
