Curious to know a fair price of a AC44 K43 "VOPO" and import marked K43.
Great conditon barrel, wood etc.
The serials are forced matched....
Any guess of a fair price here in the States?

Thanks!

Same reason allot of 'bring-back' K98k's have m/m bolts. When captured they were partly dismantled (the 43's, K98's just had bolt re-moved) and parts thrown in a plie. The GI's went thru the plie and put one to-gether. I once got a K98k from a vet and when I cleaned it up the front part of the duffle cut was walnut, stock was laminated. (By the way, they used shell cardboard tubes to ship) I asked him about it and he said his crew (tank) all shipped their rifles home at once, he must have picked up somone elses forend. I have a non import marked Port. K98k issued to the Heer, it has a trigger group and rear band which match each other but are m/m to the otherwise matched rifle. They are ealy 35-36 parts, too! Perhaps they were field repairs or mixed by GI's? You just can't say 'what happened', except they did not leave the factory that way.

There were a lot of K43 imports in the 60s before the stamp was needed.
You'd see piles of 10-20 on tables at shows.
They moved slow at $100. Matching 98s were under $50.

A lot of the imports were mismatches. Many were VOPO or Czech used.
Most vet pieces I ever saw were matching.

As for a lot of mismatches, the g/k 43s saw lot of use in other countries after WWII till up to 60s
