Here's one for you old Jarheads. I was at a gunshow in Abilene KS. yesterday and I picked up an eagle globe and anchor emblem for two bucks but I don't think I've ever seen this one. It's a bit smaller than the emblems I wore, the anchor passes from left to right (left collar) and is not fouled. It is a screw mounted type with a short pin to keep it straight (God help you if you have an upside down emblem during an inspection). The nut on the screw is fluted rather than reeded like the one usually encountered. The whole thing measures .95 " and the globe is 1/2" in diameter. Longitude lines are visible on the globe. I've seen pictures of Marines with emblems on Kaiki or tropical uniforms, is this one of those? And when does it date to ?

I'd think that the screw post type would be used with the overseas cap. Because of the reduced size, possible WM issue (WWII-1950's)?
