Does anyone know if this is a Korean Military M5A1? I have had it for some time and forgot what it was. I can't seem to find any info. on the interent for one with these markings.

Thanks, Greg V

Yes, this is the "official" M5A1 used by the South Korean armed forces. I say official because there are several marking variations, some of which are almost certainly commercial. The mark you show is the winged anchor with a star indicating Korean Defense Forces and is the official government mark used on much of their gear as the Ordnance Shell and Flame or Ordnance Escutcheon has been used by the US. These are usually of higher quality than the other marking variants. Here is a package label that came with the K-M8A1 scabbards like you show.
